Food wastage, harming the environment.

Do you waste food? Do you know if you are wasting food you are harming the environment?

As you all know food is the fuel for the human body but knower days most of the food produced is being wasted, in a research came out that an estimated 17% of total global food production is wasted (11% in households, 5% in the food service and 2% in retail). Food loss and waste undermine the sustainability of our food systems. When the produced food is wasted we also waste the elements that made the food – including water, land, energy, and capability – go to waste. In addition when the disposable of food gets dumped it leads to loss and waste in landfills, which further leads to greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change and global warming. Food loss and waste can also negatively impact food security and food availability, and may contribute to increasing the cost of food.

So, as I conclude to solve this issue of Food wastage we have to take actions globally and locally to maximize the use of the food we produce, new ways of working, and good practices to manage food quality and reduce food loss.
